Stuck in your business? How to tell what kind of help you need next

self-sabotage & subconscious blocks soul-aligned business Oct 26, 2026

If you’ve learned the basics of business (how to build an offer, how to market it, how to get on a sales call) and you still can’t make yourself use them, you don’t need another course. That kind of stuck lives in your nervous system, and it needs a different kind of help than any skill you were ever taught.

Your clients tell you your work changes their lives. And still, from the inside, both kinds of stuck feel the same. Both feel like your business is lagging behind the quality of your work. So you do what a smart, capable woman does. You go learn more. Sometimes that’s exactly right. And sometimes it keeps a gifted woman relearning things she already knows.

You want the right people to find your work and pay you for it. So let’s figure out what’s standing in the way.

My clients show up with a Ferrari of a strategy and nothing in the tank

Some of the women who come to me have what I call the Ferrari of strategy. They’ve worked with the top names in online marketing. They have the funnel, the content calendar, the sales script and the launch plan. And they can’t figure out why they feel stuck.

In over 10,000 hours of one-on-one sessions, this is the pattern I see most. The strategy is the car. Your nervous system is the fuel. When your body feels safe to be seen, safe to sell and safe to receive bigger money, the car goes. When it doesn’t, you can keep adding bells and whistles (a new hook formula, a prettier sales page, another launch model) and the Ferrari stays parked in the driveway.

Most people don’t know this, and the ads you’re bombarded with don’t help. Every week there’s a new one promising that this strategy will finally be the magic bullet. That this one will finally take the discomfort away. So you buy it, and the discomfort that’s been stopping you is still there, because the strategy isn’t the source of it.

Sometimes you just haven’t been taught yet, and that’s the easy one

I want to give the skill the credit it’s due, because sometimes that’s all it is.

If no one has ever taught you how to write a sales email, you need to learn how to write a sales email. If you’ve never priced a package, someone needs to show you how. Nobody is born knowing this stuff.

You can tell it’s a skill gap because the first time you learn it, you use it. Your first sales post is a little clunky and you post it anyway. The next one is better. Nothing in you goes into hiding about it. It feels awkward, then a little less awkward, and then it’s just something you know how to do.

If you’ve taken two copywriting courses and still hide the sale, look at your nervous system

Now the other kind of stuck.

You’ve taken more than one copywriting course. You know the formulas. You can write a deep, poetic post about your inner life and feel good about publishing it. But when it’s time to sell, the pitch goes into hiding. The offer shows up in the last line of a very long caption. The link goes in the comments, where only your most devoted readers would ever find it, with a soft “only if it resonates” clause. The sales email sits in your drafts for nine days while you reorganize your Canva folders.

You know the how. You’ve learned the strategies. But your nervous system is working overtime to keep you safe in hiding.

That tight chest right before you hit send is your nervous system scanning for safety. Being seen asking for money registers as potential danger, so it pulls you back into safe and familiar. It’s protecting something that matters to you: your reputation as the healer who’s never pushy, the identity you built as the one everyone likes. And it costs you. It keeps your perfect fit clients from raising their hand, because they never clearly heard you say you were available.

These patterns usually come from imprints you picked up in childhood, long before you had a business. Somewhere early, your body learned that wanting something out loud wasn’t safe. That pattern kept you safe when you needed it. But you’re allowed to put it down now.

One of my clients came to me with a stack of certifications. She had taken the business classes. She had built the website and the offers. She had filled out every ideal client worksheet there is. And she could not bring herself to open the doors to her practice and tell people she was taking new clients.

In one Somatic Alchemy session, we found the childhood imprint that was holding her back and worked with her nervous system until being seen felt safe in her body. She opened the doors to her practice. Within about a week, her one-on-one spots were filled.

She already had the Ferrari. She just needed the fuel.

Sometimes you need someone with eyes on your business and your blind spots

There’s a third kind of stuck, and it often travels with the second one.

Your body is mostly on board. You’re taking action. But you’re making every decision alone, and the strategies you bought were built for someone else’s business. You’re trying to squeeze a breathwork practice into a funnel designed for a fitness coach. You have three good offer ideas and no one to help you decide which one to build first. You’re getting results, but you’re the only one checking the map.

What you need here is custom guidance. Someone who knows your work, keeps you on track and tells you the truth about what they see. A cookie-cutter plan can’t do that, because it was never looking at your unique mission.

This is what my 1:1 Somatic Mentorship for Entrepreneurs is for. Six months of private work on the soul, the somatics and the strategy of your business, so the fuel and the car get built together. We start with what your mission needs and what your body is ready to hold, and we build from there. If you’re feeling a soul nudge, trust it and apply. Apply for 1:1 Mentorship →

If you want to burn it all down every quarter, you might need a new room

The last kind of stuck shows up as a feeling more than a problem. Your clients are getting results, the money is coming in, and still, every few months, it hits:

This isn’t working.
I’m doing it all wrong.
Maybe I should scrap the whole thing and start over.

When you’re building as a solopreneur, you lose perspective fast. You scroll social media and it looks like everybody’s winning but you. What you don’t see is what’s happening behind the scenes, where every entrepreneur is experimenting, flopping, learning and trying again.

When you have a community of women building alongside you, the ups and downs of entrepreneurship become normal. You have support from people who get it. You get up and dust yourself off quicker every time, and you keep iterating. If I had to name one key to success, that’s it: getting back up from your flops as quickly as possible.

Without that support, a flop feels like proof you’re messing everything up. With it, a flop is just another Tuesday in entrepreneurship.

For me, it’s always been less about the teachings and more about the room. Being around women who tell the truth about how hard it is, take bold action anyway and own their mistakes is a transmission. It’s the reason I’m always in a mastermind (right now I’m in TWO high level year long masterminds). And why I’ll be launching my mastermind for spiritual entrepreneurs again soon. Get on the waitlist to be the first to know.

Here’s what’s going to happen when you name the right kind of stuck

Start with one honest question. Do I know how to do this, or don’t I?

If you truly don’t, go learn it. Take the course. Book a session with a copywriter. You’ll feel clumsy for a minute, and then you’ll be fine.

If you have already taken the course and you still aren’t doing it, stop shopping for strategy. You’re going to feel the pull to buy one more course anyway, because learning feels productive and it’s safer than being seen. Notice that pull. That’s the old pattern asking to stay in charge. The work is in training your nervous system to feel safe with more (more money, attention, and exposure), so everything you already know can finally move.

And if you’re doing the inner (and outer) work and still second-guessing your next move, or still waking up every quarter ready to torch it all, you’ve probably been doing this alone for too long. Get some eyes on your business. Find the room that supports you through the inevitable ups and downs.

Most of the women I work with need skill, somatic support, and community support at the same time. That’s normal. A business as big as your mission takes skill, a body that feels safe using it, and people around you who can see what you can’t.

The little girl who learned that being seen in her full power wasn’t safe has been sitting in a beautiful car with an empty tank for a long time. She gets to find out how far it goes.

Fill the tank.

Questions women ask me about this

How do I know if I need business coaching or nervous system work?

Ask yourself whether you know how to do the thing you’re avoiding. If you’ve never learned it, you need the skill. If you’ve learned it (more than once even) and still don’t do it, your nervous system doesn’t feel safe yet, and that’s the work that will move your business forward.

Why can’t I make myself sell even though I know how?

Your nervous system is scanning for safety, and being seen asking for money can register as danger to a nervous system built to keep you safe, not seen. That usually traces back to imprints you picked up in childhood. Somatic work helps your body feel safe being seen and paid, so the strategy you already know starts working.

Do I need a mastermind or 1:1 mentorship?

If you need custom guidance and someone with eyes on your blind spots, 1:1 mentorship is the better fit. If you’re taking action but lose perspective and want to burn it all down every few months, a room of women building alongside you helps. My 1:1 Somatic Mentorship for Entrepreneurs works on both the somatics and the strategy of your business.
